Jack Dempsey Spitting Food Out

Hello everyone. I have had my Jack Dempsey Rocky for 3 years. He is older than that because I didn't get him when he was young. He lives in a 72 gallon bow front by himself. I do weekly water changes. I tested the water and there isn't any problems with it. For the last week and a half he spits his food out and just likes to hide in his cave. Does any one have any ideas of what his problem might be?

Any changes in his appearance? Any other fish in the tank with him?

Hello. He is all by himself. Maybe his color isn't as bright as it use to be.

If he looks fine but doesn't start eating in the next couple days I would probably try treating with API General Cure.
